Secondary School Students’ Perceived Influence of WhatsApp Social Media on Academic Performance in the English Language in Osun State

This study examined the perceived influence of WhatsApp social media on students’ learning outcomes in English Language Osun State. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for study. The population comprised all senior secondary school students simple random sampling technique used to select 200 as respondents. Self–developed questionnaire with a reliability coefficient 0.8 data collection. Data were analyzed using frequency count, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test. revealed that both academic non-academic purposes use platform. It further showed usage does not affect negatively performance except case addiction. findings there is no significant difference based gender. recommended Students should be advised utilize promote their counselors organize seminars dangers its effect performance.
